Shira Route: The route lines the mountain from western over Shira ridge. Layer people utilize this route as it doesn’t provide more climbers acclimatization time. Descent mostly done over Mweka trail.

ROUTE ITINERARY

Upon arrival, you will meet with our guide at the airport. Your guide will drive you towards the assigned hotel for overnight at Moshi town. You will have some little rest whereby after some little rest you will meet with your guide to brief you on your upcoming trek and hiking gears check in so as to be assured that all necessary equipment’s you have them while having more time to buy or rental whatever will be missing.

Transit towards Londorosi gate for registration formalities and get trekking arrangements. Get signing at the gate, drive by vehicle towards a starting point then stopover and get walking towards Shira 1 camp. Begin hiking gradual over shrubs and giant heather, stopover at Shira hut 1 in the evening and get drink much water. Have a dinner and overnight stay at the campsite while enjoying star gazing.

Climb over the moorland zone while getting crosser the volcanic rocks formations on Shira plateau. The trail badges over Shira cathedral 3872M for acclimatization of which finally primes to Shira hut 2. Though this isn’t necessity if you are strong enough you can go direct to the campsite, after a short brake you may have some time to take a little detour for an hour and back at camp. Get dinner and overnight stay at the campsite while looking for star gazing.

Begin to ascending up to Lava tower of which offer an extra day for acclimatization. Get some little rest and lunch. Get descend down gradual and continue with the trail and stopover at Baranco hut for an evening. Get dinner and overnight stay at the campsite.

Get descend down at the base of Baranco wall and advances by transitory over series of hills heading to Karanga valley. The track stopover at Karanga hut of which is a little day for climber’s acclimatization. Get some rest, dinner and sleep at the camp.

Get descend down towards a base of Baranco wall and advances by transitory over series of hills heading to Karanga valley. The path stopover to Karanga hut, get hot lunch and a little rest for 15 or 20 minutes to enrich good digestion. Begin once more to climb the Karanga clef while explores a good looking of the mountain par anomic view to base camp of Barafu. Have hot lunch at the camp and a little rest while waiting for the dinner. It has been recommended to have a very early sleep for the summit arrangements.

Get up about 11:00pm for addition more warm layered clothes with head lamp. Get off the camp and begin summiting in a midnight over the glacial zone. The pathway primes to Stella point 5756M, stopover for photographic take a little rest while waiting for hot tea or drinking water. Though for those who most preferred may take some round trip laterally the crater rim and stopover Uhuru Peak 5896M. On behalf of hikers who have found AMS are recommended to get begin descending down. Advances with descending from the summit for almost 3 hours towards the base camp once more and get a rest for 2 hours before lunch. Get up after a little rest, get some brunch, repack all of hiking gears and get descending down at Mweka hut.

Get hot breakfast; endure hiking over the beautiful rain forest and stopover at Mweka gate. Get awarded of certificates of which golden certificate are given to hikers who reached Uhuru peak and green certificate for Stella point hikers. Get back to Mweka village and drive to Moshi town for some rest or get ready for flight back at home. “Usually tipping may be offered at the last camp or in a certain gate”
